HGL(ETGL) series Load disconnector

Scope of Application

The HGL (ETGL) series load isolating switches are primarily used in circuits with a frequency of 50 Hz, a rated voltage of 400 V and a rated current of up to 3,150 A. They are designed for infrequent switching of circuits and for the isolation of electrical equipment.

Product Overview

• The spring-energised instantaneous release mechanism enables rapid make or break (13.8 metres per second), irrespective of the speed of the operating handle, thereby significantly enhancing arc-quenching capability
• The casing, manufactured from glass fibre-reinforced unsaturated polyester resin, offers excellent flame-retardant properties, dielectric properties, carbonisation resistance and impact resistance.
• The parallel double-break contacts feature a self-cleaning mechanism.
• All contacts have two separate contact surfaces. The large isolation distance allows the handle to be secured with three locks simultaneously when in the ‘0’ position, reliably preventing accidental operation.

Normal operating and installation conditions

• Ambient air temperature not exceeding +40°C and not falling below -5°C; relative humidity not exceeding 95 per cent
• Altitude of the installation site not exceeding 2,000 metres
• No explosive atmospheres
• No exposure to rain or snow

Note: If the equipment is intended for use in conditions where the ambient air temperature exceeds +40°C or falls below -5°C, the user should inform the manufacturer.

HGL(ETGL)-63~3150A Load disconnector

• The HGL (ETGL) series load switches are available in seven sizes ranging from 63 A to 3150 A. These are basic models with a modular design, available in three-pole and four-pole configurations (three-pole plus a neutral pole capable of being switched on and off), and are primarily used for closing and opening circuits or for electrical isolation; models with a rated current of 1000 A and above are suitable for electrical isolation only.
• A marking window on the front panel indicates the contact make/break status.
• A rear observation window can be provided on request to allow direct observation of the contact status; for window styles, refer to the HGL(ETGL)-160A-1600A/KH cabinet-mounted load isolating switch.
• Two sets of auxiliary contacts may be fitted.

Operating Instructions

Direct operation: the handle is fitted directly in the centre of the switch

External operation: the handle is fitted on the outside of the switchboard door

HGL(ETGL)-63A~100A Load disconnector

63A-100A are suitable for switching circuits on and off or for electrical isolation

63A-100A are available in 3-pole and 4-pole versions (3-pole plus a switchable neutral pole)
