HD11FA Series Anti-Misoperation Open-Type Knife Switch

The HD11FA open-type knife switch (anti-misoperation type) is suitable for rated insulation voltage 1000 V, rated operational voltage 690 V, and rated operational current from 200 A to 1500 A. It is mainly used in low-voltage complete sets of equipment for making and breaking circuits and isolating power supply under no-load conditions. The technical performance of this switch complies with IEC 60947-3 and GB/T 14048.3 standards.

Normal Service and Installation Conditions

• Ambient air temperature not higher than +40 °C and not lower than -5°C.
• Installation altitude not exceeding 2000 m.
• Humidity: At a maximum temperature of +40 °C, the relative humidity of the air shall not exceed 50%. Higher relative humidity is permitted at lower temperatures (e.g., 90% at 20 °C). Appropriate measures shall be taken against occasional condensation caused by temperature variations.
• Pollution degree of the surrounding environment is degree 3.
• The switch shall be installed in a location free from significant vibration, shock vibration and rain/snow exposure. The installation site shall be free from explosive media, and the medium shall contain no gases or dust sufficient to corrode metal or damage insulation.

Safety and Precautions

This series of open-type knife switches is strictly prohibited from load operation. During opening operation, the unlocking mechanism shall be set to the “Unlocked” position. After closing operation, check that the locking mechanism is in the “Locked” position.
The open-type knife switch may only be inspected or maintained when the circuit is completely disconnected from the power supply (i.e., in a de-energized condition).
After the open-type knife switch is put into service, periodic inspection and maintenance shall be carried out.
